Arrival and transportation information
The conference venue is located in the south-east of Karlsruhe's city centre close to Kronenplatz S-Bahn station which makes it easily reachable within short time from all other parts of the city.
Arriving by plane
Most probably you will be arriving at Stuttgart airport (STR) or Frankfurt airport (FRA). Both airports and Karlsruhe are directly connected by train services:
- ICE from Stuttgart Airport to Karlsruhe Central Station (Hbf): 40-50 minutes
- ICE from Frankfurt Airport to Karlsruhe Central Station (Hbf): 60-70 minutes
Tickets can be obtained from EUR 20.- (reduced offers for early booking), standard fares are around EUR 30-40.-. Our suggestion: Use the website of the German Railways to buy your train ticket or get it directly at the airport from a ticket machine.
Arriving by car
Use your GPS to find your way. The address of the conference venue is: Englerstraße 11, 76131 Karlsruhe. In the inner districts of Karlsruhe parking on the streets is severely restricted (short-time parking zones only) and not free of charge. If your hotel has a parking area, it will be the easiest way to leave your car there during the whole stay and use public transport.
Arriving by train
The destination of your journey is Karlsruhe Central railway station (Karlsruhe Hbf). The conference venue is located only a few S-Bahn (city rail) or tram stops from there. Have a look at the network map to see which lines you can use to reach the conference venue from the the railway station.
Public transport in Karlsruhe
Karlsruhe has a dense network of city rail (S), tram and bus lines. All public transport lines can be used with the same ticket. To go around in the city centre area and reach the conference venue from your hotel, you will most probably use S or tram lines only. Click here to download a network map. The price of a single ticket for Vienna is EUR 2.50. There are also one-day tickets (called "Citysolo") for EUR 6.40 which can be bought from ticket machines. A bundle of four Citysolo tickets (called "City quattro") is available for EUR 23.40.
Karlsruhe also offers mobile tickets which can be bought through the smartphone app Ticket2Go. This app requires positioning via GPS at the beginning and end of your journey to calculate the correct fare. The daily fare will never be higher than the price of a Citysolo ticket. It will de deducted via SEPA Direct Debit, so bank account within the SEPA zone is required to use the app.
